Be prepared to explain and elaborate the following:

1. Starting Points for Christology
2. The Quests for the Historical Jesus
3. Methodological Considerations (esp. the three stages of the formation of the gospels; criteria or principles for identifying the first stage).
4. Jesus and his movement
5. Jesus and the message of the kingdom of God
6. The death of Jesus
7. Moltmann on the death of Jesus
8. Sobrino on the death of Jesus
9. The resurrection of Jesus
10. Theologians (Bultmann, Rahner, Pannenberg, Schillebeeckx, Ratzinger, O'Collins,) on the resurrection of Jesus
11. Laudato Si' and Christology

Sample Examination:

Part 1: Short Answer (in 3-5 lines).
Example: What does Harnack mean when he writes, "The essence (kernel) of Christianity is Jesus and his simple message. The rest are simply husks"?


Part II. Long Answer (Essay)
Choose only one of the two questions.
Discuss the so-called quest of the historical Jesus.

He served as president of the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines (CBAP), chairperson of the Tagaytay Religious Association (TRA), Dean of Studies (Divine Word Seminary), and editor of the academic journal  Diwa: Studies in Philosophy and Theology. He founded the Certificate in Theological Studies (CTS) at the Divine Word Seminary and the SVD Tagaytay Alternative Learning System (SVD-ALS), an educational program for the out-of-school youth.
